G Pro Tour – The Premier Developmental Tour For Golfers

8

The GPRO Tour is an elite developmental tour for golfers hoping to qualify for Korn Ferry and PGA tours, boasting a substantial prize pool compared to other mini-tours. Golfers who join this league compete against one another for an even larger prize pool than on other mini-tours.

Players on the pro tour share one goal and support each other even when competing fiercely on the course. This week, they’re at Hertford County’s Sound Golf Links at Albermarle Plantation for the Impact Championship.

The G Pro Tour serves as a developmental tour for golfers hoping to join the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour competitions, offering events throughout the southern United States with player-friendly purse structures that ensure players receive more of what’s taken in at each event and help players sharpen their games prior to Q school. Notable alumni include former NFL quarterback John Brodie and MLB pitcher Rick Rhodes.

G Pro tournaments like Hertford’s Impact Championship provide spectators an incredible opportunity to witness the next generation of golfers up close. While G Pro players compete fiercely on and off the course, they support one another on and off it as well as understand the pressures involved with pursuing one’s dream – something spectators can watch live as their favorite golfers compete in this week’s event!

It’s a mini-tour

Mini-tours provide an excellent way for anyone to experience professional golf, from those trying to break in, aspirant pros, or just avid enthusiasts alike. These tours give up-and-coming professionals the opportunity to compete in tournaments designed to resemble what players would see on PGA Tour events; prize pools for these tournaments typically range between $2,000 to $50,000 depending on size and prize money payout.

Mini-tours may not be well known, but they can still provide an invaluable opportunity to hone your skills and prepare for big-league golf. Most professional golfers play on at least some mini-tours before reaching the PGA Tour; though their system has changed considerably since 2000, mini-tours remain viable options for those hoping to become pros.

The GoPro Tour provides developmental tournaments for Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour hopefuls, begun in 2013. Since its creation, this developmental mini-tour has experienced exponential growth – now boasting 24 events across seven states in the southeastern US region and hosting this year’s Impact Championship at Sound Golf Links at Albermarle Plantation in Hertford, North Carolina.

Some mini-tours require an annual entry fee, while others charge per event, with players responsible for covering travel, lodging, and any additional expenses incurred when participating. Tournaments generally consist of stroke play tournaments lasting two or three rounds; most include cutlines for their events.

Notable alumni of the GPro Tour include Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel, and Thomas Aiken. In South Africa, a feeder tour called Bushveld Tour targets up-and-coming players; other local development tours, such as the Dakotas Tour and Moonlight Tour, provide additional development opportunities.

GoPro Tour golfers are fierce rivals yet mutually supportive. All are striving for their dream while under pressure; this week, they are at Sound Golf Links at Albemarle Plantation for the Impact Championship; spectators are encouraged to attend this free event from Thursday to Saturday.

Prize money at this tournament is substantial, drawing strong support across the southeastern United States. Since its inaugural tournament was hosted back in 2013, its popularity has expanded immensely, expanding from 12 games to 24 this season and seeing prize pools increase from $160,000 in year one to $1.5 million this year.

Paresh Amin, 43 years old and former Army, and Navy service member has had little success competing on the GPro Tour over the last three years. He missed or withdrew from 27 tournaments this year and only made one cut at Mackenzie Tour Q-School.
