Microsoft Showcases Touch-Based Office Apps

Microsoft displayed its touch-based versions of many of its Office applications that will be used on Windows 10 recently at a company event. The new apps, which include popular productivity apps like Word and Excel, are going to be included in all tablets and phones that can use the Windows 10 operating system.
The apps were designed as a means of creating a universal interface to where the functions in the mobile apps are identical to what people will get out of the desktop versions of the programs. This includes ribbons being formatted into the app bar to make them easier to access.
The apps are also going to feature a real-time sync option. This allows for a user to open a file that was on a tablet or phone right onto a computer and edit it from there.
