A new Android tablet from China that was designed to compete with models from larger brands has become a popular item on the Kickstarter website. The discounted Jide Ultra Remix tablets were made available on Kickstarter with a select number being available for $39. This is compared with the $399 value that they will go for on the market.

The Jide Ultra Remix tablet will ship to customers in May. It took about a day for the Kickstarter campaign to get three-quarters of its $100,000 goal covered. There are more than 600 backers for the campaign as of that time.

The Jide Ultra Remix will feature an 11.6-inch HD display screen, an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and 2 GB of RAM. It also has a microSD slot and can handle up to 64 GB of data. It also uses a version of Android 4.4 that has been adjusted to operate in a manner similar to what Windows uses. A keyboard and mouse may also be paired up with it if desired.
