Google Chrome To No Longer Have Support For Windows XP At End of Year
April 16th, 2015 | by Michael Fox
Google announced that its Chrome web browser will not longer receive Windows XP-related updates by the end of the year. Although Microsoft no longer provides updates to Windows XP, Google continued to offer updates to Chrome for XP users with the belief that not everyone could switch to a new operating system right away.
The report came from Mark Larson, the director of engineering for Google Chrome. Larson earlier stated that Chrome was going to keep on being updated for XP users for at least a year after Microsoft stopped supporting that system.
Mozilla and Opera both continue to offer updates to their browsers for XP users but it is unclear as to how long they will do this for.
