A company looking to make bulletproof caps is taking its project to Kickstarter. Ammoland.com has set up a successful campaign for the BulletSafe Bulletproof Baseball Cap that has gotten to its goal of $3,500.
The BulletSafe cap is designed with a twill body and uses internal polymers that are identical to what a ballistic helmet uses. These are arranged to stop handgun fire from hurting the person who wears the hat.
The hat is going for $129 each but it is available from Kickstarter for $99. Prototypes have been found to be fully successful. Ammoland.com is hoping to sell these to police officers and other security officials as a means of added protection.
