Apple Offers Gift Cards To Android Switchers

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple will begin offering gift cards in exchange for Android trade-ins.
Apple will soon introduce a new trade-in program that will accept non-Apple smartphones. In exchange for trading in a smartphone, Apple will offer gift cards to be used toward the purchase of new iPhones.
The company’s previous plans were for Apple products only. The new program will be similar in that Apple Retail Store employees will determine trade-in values by looking at their cosmetic and functional condition.
The new program is said to be launching in the coming weeks, after an extensive training program by retail store employees that will begin sometime later this week. Apple employees will be trained to transfer contacts along with other data from competitor smartphones.
Apple originally launched the trade-in program in 2013 to encourage users of older models to upgrade. Over the past few years, Apple has expanded the program to different countries, added more eligible products, and has offered upgrade events to increase sales.
