Apple Censors NSFW Joke At WWDC

For A More Family-Friendly Feel

Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook took to the stage to announce a slew of upgrades to the company’s many software offerings. During the keynote, the CEO offered to pay off a “ransom note” that was playfully made by members of the Cleveland Indians baseball team.

The note mostly demanded Apple products, but there was one item that didn’t happen to make it into the keynote. The item was NSFW (not safe for work)- enough that Apple had to Photoshop the joke item out.

Just One Missing Item

The backstory here is that when Major League Baseball player Brandon Moss, the first baseman for the Indians, recently earned his 100th home run, the ball landed in the team’s bullpen. Instead of handing over the ball, his teammates grabbed it and wrote a ransom note for what they wanted in exchange for it. Most of the items included Apple products like iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.

One item that was the outlier was “50 gallons of lube.” The missing item was discovered by Twitter user Andrew Martin  and was quick to point out the missing item on the ransom note shown during the keynote.

The demand came from Indians relief pitcher Marc Rzepcynski, known as “Zep.” His request for a massive order of lube was likely removed to create a more family-friendly presentation by Apple.

Don’t worry Apple, the Internet is here to remind you of that item that you forgot.
